What drew you to yoga?
I was working for lululemon in South Carolina and was invited to a class at Mission Yoga. The instructors voice was so soothing and for the first time I was able to connect breath with movement. I just kept coming back for more juicy goodness
Why do you practice?
I practice to be present, to calm my mind, breathe, and play!
(Life+) How does yoga change you off the mat?
I feel I am able to approach more difficult situations with a level head and respond instead of react. Since a young age I have dealt with social anxiety and lack confidence and yoga has helped me overcome those. I am also working on not taking life so seriously and loving myself just as I am.
What is your style?
Power with some restorative mixed in. I will always have a long savasana, gotta get that cold eucalyptus towel at the end.
Where are you when you’re not teaching?
Managing Oirdental and the Midwest Implant Institute, taking classes, running, traveling, or reading at Pistachio Vera.
What illuminates you?
Watching others succeed.
