What drew you to yoga?
I began yoga while living in South Korea. I was the only foreigner in the class and remember feeling inspired by the instructor. Though I couldn't understand a word he was saying, I could sense how balanced he was and I could sure as hell feel the yoga working.
Why do you practice?
I practice because I strive to become more aware, compassionate and connected to the universe. I practice for the fun of expressing myself through physical asana and learning to live in the moment while doing so!
(Life+) How does yoga change you off the mat?
Yoga teaches me to be grounded, compassionate, humble and lighthearted.
What is your style?
My style gravitates towards discipline and freedom. I believe in creating your own path through the guidance and inspiration of peers and teachers...honoring the system while approaching practice with a light and open heart.
Where are you when you’re not teaching?
If I'm not in the studio, you'll probably find me on the couch with a bag of chips, giggling at some comedic genius. If I'm lucky, you'll find me on an adventure or road trip.
What illuminates you?
What illuminates me is feeling inspired by artists, musicians, humanitarians and other sorts of magical people who create love and beauty in the world. When I witness this type of power, the dark side of life doesn't scare me.
