Her practice promotes positivity and strength...
while encouraging you to grow.
What drew you to yoga?
I actually despised yoga when I took my first class. I kept wondering how I could get the hell out of there without anyone noticing. After that initial class, I took a power class which was more what I needed at the time and I fell in love!
Why do you practice?
I practice because it makes me a better person for myself and those I care about. Yoga gives me mental strength when it comes to life challenges and a clearer, more stable mind. And I love the physical aspect of a good vinyasa class.
(Life+) How does yoga change you off the mat?
I notice I’m not disturbed by shitty Columbus drivers anymore and I’m able to stay much calmer in times of stress. I feel overall wayyy more balanced and stable as a human. I think of it as an hour to get out everything I need to make me better for my day.
What is your style?
My teaching style is pretty laid back. I like to give people the freedom to move and flow in a way that feels best to them (assuming their form and alignment is on point). I like to get people heated and moving and really help them find relaxation at the end.
My clothing style? I pretty much live in my yoga pants and no shoes. If I have to “get dressed up” it may be a flannel shirt over yoga pants with flat tall boots. Voila.
Where are you when you’re not teaching?
You can find me out walking and talking to my hound dog, Stuart, at a coffee shop working on The Beauty Boost or doing something adventurous with my friends.
What illuminates you?
Red wine and fun, positive people.
