immerses you in relaxation.
What drew you to yoga?
I started practicing yoga in high school - following along with the DVR (if you're as old as me, you'll remember this struggle before streamlining services!) to build strength and flexibility. I had no idea at the time how transformative this practice would be!
Why do you practice?
I practice to find a sense of calm in this chaotic world.
(Life+) How does yoga change you off the mat?
I try to represent and learn from all aspects of yoga (not just the movement "asana" portion) through the teachings of the Yamas and Niyamas. I have found this practice to be a sort of "north star" for my spiritual growth and self-healing.
What is your style?
I am a slow flow vinyasa teacher and sound healer. I try my best to represent some of the authentic yogic teachings in my classes by incorporating many elements such as breath, meditation, philosophy and/or movement.
Where are you when you’re not teaching?
Either working from home for my day job (yes, I have a corporate job, as much as I would love to be full-time teacher and healer, I am not there, yet) OR immersed in nature with my dog, Brian. I love bathing in the smells, sounds, sites and healing energy of our great mother.
What Illuminates you?
Traveling. I am a free spirit and feel most like myself lost in another culture experiencing the food, people and incredible beauty of the world.
