DYLAN
YORK
What drew you to yoga?
I practiced yoga on and off for around 15 years before I was ready to commit to teacher training. When I did, the practice gave me a structure, focus, and sense of discipline that benefitted every aspect of my life, and it stuck.
Why do you practice?
I practice asanas to maintain that sense of structure, to keep myself moving, and to remind myself why challenge is worth seeking out.
What is your style?
My sequences tend to focus on balance and mobility— building physical strength and mental grit through long holds of demanding postures. Ideally, I hope my classes culminate in mental quiet and breath-lead flows, where students move at their own pace.
Where are you when you’re not teaching?
When I’m not teaching, you can find me climbing, kayaking, out taking photos, or at a metro park with Ramona, my rescue pup.
