What drew you to yoga?
I began practicing yoga against my will at the age of 10- I had talked back to my mother and she deemed it a good punishment to be attending yoga with her every time she went for a month. At that point, it was my absolute nightmare. I could not stop looking at the clock and savasana seemed to last 500 years. “People enjoy this??”, I would ask her after every class.
Eventually, I started to look at the clock less and less. Instead of arguing when she told me it was time for yoga, I began having my mat already packed in the car, waiting for my mom to hurry up. Fast forward 9 years and my mom and I completed our Yoga Teacher Training together.
Why do you practice?
I practice so that I can get out of my ever-running mind and into my body.
What is your style?
The style of yoga I offer is rooted in the foundations of Hatha/Vinyasa Yogic tradition. We flow seamlessly, with creative transitions and options to advance your practice, while staying true to your body's wants and needs. Come to class ready to take off the day, move freely and challenge yourself.
Where are you when you’re not teaching?
When I am not teaching, I am either patio hopping with my boyfriend or laying on the couch with my two cats watching Vikings. Oh yeah or teaching my day job in Olentangy Schools! Ha!
What illuminates you?
What illuminates me the most is seeing the light in others, especially when they might not be able to see it for themselves. Yoga is a beautiful way to find that light in all beings and continue to be happy, healthy, safe and at ease of mind.
