ADAM
LAWSON
What drew you to yoga?
The idea of yoga -for me- came as gift from the universe in a time of despair. I was drawn to the practice by signs of constant reassurance. Yoga was popping up in places I didn’t expect and then Cher said she could do a 5 minute plank. I want to be as strong/stronger than Cher, so I started practicing yoga.
Why do you practice?
I practice to become a more effective communicator. Whether teaching or practicing I try to keep in mind Albert Mehrabian’s 7-38-55 rule. My practice brings me peace.
What is your style?
My style is slow vinyasa, intentional movement and challenging but mostly always growing and evolving. I like to allow space for students to think their own thoughts. My goal is for people the have free bodies and minds.
Where are you when you’re not teaching?
When I’m not teaching I love being outdoors, anywhere, anytime trying new and familiar things.
What illuminates you?
I’m lit up by life and experiencing people express themselves through different mediums.
